Unique premiere of “Today in Bethlehem”
A St. Nicholas Day present for children
A premiere unlike any other
On December 6, 2024, we had the unique opportunity to show our latest VR production for the first time - “Today in Bethlehem”. However, it was not an ordinary premiere intended only for significant figures and media. On the occasion of St. Nicholas Day, together with The Museum of St. John Paul II the Great in Krakow we decided to prepare an event especially for children.
Starting with a game prepared by Museum staff, the children searched for gold, incense and myrrh to reach the VR cinema and watch “Today in Bethlehem” - to see what the legendary birthplace of Christ actually looks like. After watching the film, the children were greeted by its director, Katarzyna Iskra, who freely answered all their questions.
After that there was a carol concert performed by the choir, and a meeting with the members of the foundation Little Bethlehem - people who were born and live there every day. St. Nicholas Day adventure ended with a gingerbread treat.
A cinematic adventure for the kids...
“Today in Bethlehem” made a huge impression on the children. It was also their first contact with VR technology, which heightened the excitement even more. We are very happy that we can use these incredible experiences that virtual reality provides to enhance learning, impart knowledge, and even educate in exploring and admiring the world.
...and for the adults
“Today in Bethlehem” is essentially a virtual pilgrimage. This is the easiest way to see Bethlehem as if you were there. Now that the area is at war, this is the safest way to visit this unique place. This is an amazing experience for people of all ages.
We cordially invite you to our cinema in The Museum of St. John Paul II the Great in Krakow every day from 9:00 to 17:00. “Today in Bethlehem” not only provides an unforgettable experience, but it can also be an excellent start for the catechesis lesson. During this special holiday season, it's worth to explore the place where it all began.
