We are proud to see how our project “The Way” develops, becoming an innovative educational and cultural tool. We are convinced that our efforts will contribute to increasing the interest and availability of immersive technologies in Poland.
In October 2023, our team significantly advanced the production of the second episode of “The Way”, achieving a visual and narrative breakthrough. We have finished animatic storyboard, which is crucial for planning further production. We have completed half of the planned scenes, which shows our commitment to VR quality. We also develop voiceover text and soundtrack, engaging music creators and sound effects specialists to enhance the emotional impact on the viewers. October brought us closer to finalizing key segments, with the goal of creating a cohesive, immersive VR story, taking care of every aspect of production.
In September, the project “The Way” focused on the area of visualization, using the Unreal Engine to create realistic 3D scenes. It was a key month for the progress of the project, with intensive technology development. The preparations for the Jerusalem shooting, necessary to depict the Way of the Cross in the VR series, included the use of 360-degree cameras and ambisonic technology. Team coordination, logistics and collaboration with local experts in Israel were to ensure high quality production, with the involvement of the cinematographer, DOP, executive producer and also camera and sound specialists.
Over the past few months, we focused on creating animatic storyboard — a preliminary version of the entire CVR experience, the quality of which was not yet final. In August, we started intensive work on improving and finalizing our project. We are pleased to announce that we have completed the image finalization for the first 8 minutes of the experience and have achieved 30% progress in sound quality.
We are also starting research work. One of our goals is to determine interest in VR technology among Poles from different age groups and places of residence. We organized the first screenings of our project in the work in progress version, viewers watched the first 8 minutes and filled out surveys. We can quickly say that they are very promising, and Poles regardless of age, place of residence or education want to use immersive technologies, the key is, as usual, the content.
Animatic storyboard is a key stage of animation creation, consisting in the creation of a series of simplified scenes or “sketches” that represent the sequence and flow of the final story, which we are working on. In our project we use 360-degree technology, which allows for full interactivity and immersion in the story being told.
